SOLDIERS’ COMFORTS CARD TOURNAMENT. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Borough Ladies’ Soldiers’ Comforts Committee held its monthly flag 500 tournament in the Anglican Hall on Saturday evening. There was a large attendance of players and the games were keenly contested. The winners were: Ladies: Mrs. D.* Hart and Miss Dorest; men, Messrs., W. J. Manser and B. Oliver. The prizes were donated by the hostesses, Mesdames W. Olsen and D. Scott. Pte. H. Zuckerman, U.S.M.C., is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Mills, Nireaha. Mr and Mrs W. Duff, Hastings, are visitors to Eketahuna for the King— Gallagher wedding and are staying at Liverpool House. Mrs E. W. Sinclair, Pahiatua, is the guest of her brother, Mr Campbell, Raleigh Road. Private C. C. Walters and A. Sellars, U.S.M.C., who have been the guests of Mr and Mrs Campbell Raleigh, have returned to Masterton. Mr V. L. Carroll, “Kautara,” Mangaweka, is the guest of his aunts, the Misses Anderson, Alfredton Road.
Private Q. Thompson, New Plymouth, is the guest of Mr B. Anderson, Eketahuna.
