COMPETITION RESULTS.
("Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the SolwayManaia Women’s Institute, Mrs Munn presided. , , Three new members were welcomed. Mrs Woollett and Mrs McGovern were appointed delegates to attend the council meeting at Carterton. Mrs S. J. Munn gave an interesting demonstration on a covered work-box, for which she was thanked. The competitions resulted as follow. Cooking, apple pie in saucer: Mrs Butler 1, Mrs Allen 2, Mrs Curry 3. Flowers, best bloom (large): Mrs Taylforth 1, Mrs S. J. Munn 2, Mrs Carr 3. Small bloom: Mrs Allen 1 Mrs Catherall 2, Mrs Catton 3. Decorated basket: Mrs Scrivener 1, Mrs Carr 2, Mrs S. Allen 3. Geranium: Mrs Cornick and Mrs Webber (equal) 1, Mrs S. J Munn 2. Sewing, article from flour bag: Mrs Carr 1, Mrs Curry 2. Sugar bag: Mrs Torrance 1, Mrs Henderson 2. The hostesses for May will be Mesdames Crozier, Colway, Dornan and Diamond.
