CHIMNEY REPAIRS

AMENDED ACCOUNTS TO BE SENT OUT. MANY ALREADY PAID. Chimney repair accounts, now that the Government has decided to subsidise these to the extent of 30 per cent, are being paid fairly freely at the Masterton Borough offices. ' It is intended to send out notices to those concerned showing the. reduced amount to be paid in every case. Persons who paid their accounts before the 30 per cent reduction was granted may obtain a refund on making application to the borough or county offices. Those in receipt of pensions who wish to obtain a remission of the whole amount are required to give brief particulars on a form available at the borough office and their applications will be referred to a committee for consideration.
