VITAL “STATISTICS FIGURES FOR MARCH. (“Times-Age” Special.) There were three births, two marriages and two deaths registered in Featherston during March. ■ Rainfall Record. During March 66 points of rain were recorded in Featherston. There weie five wet days, and the heaviest fall was 30 points on March 11. In March, 1942. 4.24 inches of rain were registered. Personal Items. ; Mrs E. M. Wilson, Dannevirke, who had been the guest of Mrs Clapshaw, left today for Wellington. The promotion to Pilot Officer oi Bruce A. McKenzie, N.Z.R.A.F., has appeared in the New Zealand Gazette. Pilot Officer McKenzie, who is a son of Mr and Mrs K. McKenzie, is a prisoner of war in Germany. Mr J. W. Holland, who has been supervisor at the local Post Office for a number of years, and latterly has been acting Postmaster, has received notice of his promotion to postmaster. Mr Holland has been a popular and efficient officer and his promotion will meet with the warm approval of the residents of the district. COSY THEATRE “BURMA CONVOY.” There will be a double feature pio* gramme tonight. “Burma Convoy, is a thrilling drama with Charles Bickford and Evelyn Ankers in the leading roles The other picture, “Blondie Goes to College,” is an excellent comedy featuring Penny Singleton and Arthur Lake.
