JAPANESE JITTERY
ACCORDING TO CHUNGKING RADIO. SHIPPING LOSSES FELT SEVERELY. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, March 31. American submarines have taken such a toll of Japanese shipping that Japan is unable to utilise raw materials from the conquered countries, declared the Chungking radio. The commentator added: “The limited industry and the labour problems of the Japanese, plus complications associated with raw materials, are enough to embitter their hearts, especially as Allied production is greater than ever. This makes the Japanese jittery. The enemy is nearing the end of his days.”
