SOUTH FEATHERSTON
EUCHRE PARTY & DANCE WAR SERVICE COMMITTEE. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance at the euchre party and dance held in the South * Featherston Hall by the War Service Committee. Udy’s Orchestra provided the music and much appreciated extras were played by Misses M. Tocker, N. Tocker l and Mr Lloyd Mclntosh. Mr H. Graham was M.C. The Monte Carlo waltzs were won by Miss M. Davis and partner and Miss J. Houston and partner, and a lucky spot by Mr Fenwick and partner. The card prizes were won as follow: —Ladies: Mrs A. Gain, 1; Mrs H. Williams, 2. Men’s section: Mrs F. R. Burt, 1; Mr G. Sorensen, 2. Supper was served by a ladies’ committee. Parcels for Soldiers. Members of the War Service Committee met in the South Featherston Hall recently and packed parcels for local soldiers who were serving overseas. Enjoyable Gathering. " An enjoyable time was spent recently at a gathering at the home of Mrs D. W. Burt, South Featherston, held in aid of the Karitane Hospital fund, the proceeds to go towards stocking stalls at a garden fete. The winners at euchre were Mrs F. R. Burt and Mr J. Blain. A competition was won by Mrs H. W. Willis. Personal Items. Mi’ K. Burt is visiting relations at Tauranga. Mr and Mrs Baillie and Miss Yule are visiting Palmerston North. Mrs Willis, Masterton, is spending a holiday at South Featherston.
