PERSONAL ITEMS (“Times-Age” Special.) Mesdames Beard and McDonald, Wanganui, are the guests of Mrs Trevor Hume, Raho Ruru. Mrs Fisher, Carterton, was the guest of Mrs Sutton over the weekend. American naval officers were the guests of Mr and Mrs Trevor Hume, for a few days. Miss N. McDougall has returned from Wellington. Miss Mclntosh, Dannevirke, is staying with her grandparents. Private Noel Duggan, writing to his father from the Middle East, stated that he and his brother, James, were in good health, and that Corporal Tom Sargeant was in hospital with pneumonia. The Patriotic Committee held a euchre party and dance on Friday evening when a presentation was made to Private Charles Busch. Mesdames Warren and Atkinson have been appointed delegates to represent the local Women’s Institute at the annual conference of Women’s Institutes. Mrs. W. Hume, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs Trevor Hume. Private and Mrs Naera, who were recently married at Hastings, are visiting relatives in the Gladstone and Greytown districts. Mr and Mrs Saunders have returned from a visit to Wellington.
