HOMING PIGEONS
MASTERTON CLUB. RACE FROM DANNEVIRKE. The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club was favoured by fine weather for a race from Dannevirke, an airline distance of 55 miles. The following was the result: — A.. Pinkney’s Little Danube (time, lhr. 14 min. 16secs.), 1; Stewart and Sons’ Sherwood (lhr. 14min. 27secs.), 2; Stewart and Sons’ Windy Weather (1 hr. 14min. 42secs.), 3; Grant and Forrester’s Gay Lass (lhr. 14min. 44secs.), ( 4; N. Gardner’s Blondie (lhr. 14min. 48secs.), 5; Grant and Forrester’s Gay Son (lhr. 15min. 37secs.), 6. The following are the points, prize winners: —Stewart and Sons, 45 points, 1; Grant and Forrester, 44 points, 2; A. Pinkney, 32 points, 3. The next races will be from Napier, an airline distance of 120 miles, and Waipawa, an airline distance of 85 miles.
