- —♦ Lieutenant-Colonel C. J. Williams is spending a few days with his family in Masterton. Mrs B. Holmes, Blenheim, is visiting Masterton, and is the guest of Mrs R. Latham, Miriam Street. Mrs A. F. Stewart, Essex Street, Masterton, is visiting Wellington, where she will attend the Voluntary Aid Council meeting in connection with the New Zealand Red Cross Society. Mr R. M. Macfarlane, M.P., former Mayor of Christchurch, was discharged from the Army last week, having been examined by a medical board on his return after more than two years of service in the Middle East. He recently arrived back in New Zealand on a hospital ship.
