Palmerston North Seat.

The mayor, Mr A. E. Mansford, has decided to contest the North seat at the general election. Mr Mansford will stand as an Independent pledged to concentrate all the country’s resources on winning the war. In the general election of' 1935 Mr Mansford stood as an Independent and polled 4615 votes against the 4730 of the successful candidate, Mr Hodgens. Mr J. A. Nash polled 4380.
