WEDDING
COOPER—WILTON.
The Methodist Church, Masterton, was gaily decorated with autumn flowers on Saturday afternoon, when Phyllis Jean, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Wilton, Masterton, was married to William John, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs H. J. Cooper, “Ellesmere,” Opaki. The ceremony was performed by Mr F. H. Parker and Miss C. Donald was at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her brother, A.C.2 R. H. Wilton, R.N.Z.A.F., was attired in a becoming gown of heavily embossed cream satin, cut on slim fitting lines and falling to a train. An embroidered tulle veil was worn with a halo and she wore a string of pearls. A sheaf of St. Joseph and belladonna lilies with maidenhair fern, was carried. Pretty frocks of blue and pink georgette respectively were worn by the bridesmaids, Misses Mavis Cooper, chief bridesmaid (a sister of the bridegroom) and Rena Stains (cousin of the. bride). The frocks were fully gathered at the front with a heartshaped neckline and had bishop sleeves. They wore strings of pearls. Their head dresses were embroidered tulle veils to match their frocks, caught to the head by flower topknots. They carried sheaves of carnations and maidenhair fern, with a touch of blue; and pink lilies and maidenhair fern, respectively. Mr. Harold Cooper (brother of the bridegroom) was best man and Mr. Frank Lambert was groomsman. As the bridal party left the church, little Jocelyn Stains (cousin of the bride) ' presented the bride with a miniature silver horse shoe. The reception was held at the Masonic Hall where 120 guests were entertained. Mesdames F. Stains (aunt of the bride) and Cooper .received the guests. Mrs. Stains wore a smart light tan frock of silk crepe with a coatee and brown accessories and Mrs Cooper was attired in a black marocain ensemble embossed with velvet flowers. The former carried a posy of autumn tonings and the latter a posy of red and gold flowers. The usual toasts were honoured. When Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Cooper left for the north the bride travelled in a black frock trimmed with white and wore matching accessories. Their future home will be at Opaki..
