ARRESTED BY NAZIS

BRITISH & AMERICAN MEN. IN FORMER FREE ZONE IN FRANCE. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) LONDON, March 26. British and American men remaining in the former free zone in France have been taken to Germany, says a Berne message. The American Legation at Berne was unable to confirm the report, but stated that it was. informed that all British and American citizens within the zone, believed to number 3,600, have been removed. They were mostly British and were arrested ostensibly for removal to the North of France. Reports reaching Berne say the Germans claimed that the arrests were necessary to remove trouble-mak-ing elements from France against the possibility of military operations, presumably in connection with an Allied invasion.
