MATCH IN MASTERTON. A match was played in Masterton on Saturday between teams representing Red Star-Air Force and Old Boys-Wai-rarapa College. Eight of those selected in the former team failed to put in an appearance and batted nine players, while Lyver and Young were absent from the Old Boys-College eleven, who had an easy win. Scores:— Old Boys-College, 238 (Sweeney 43, O’Brien retired 41, Jones 32, K. Masters retired 30, G. Masters 19, Thompson 14, McMichael not out 12, Miller 12; Davis, 4 for 61, Abbott 1 for 11, Roys 1 for 16, Robinson 1 for 75. Red Star-Air Force, 100 (Burns 29, Roys 20, Davis 15; McMichael, 4 for 26, Sweeney 2 for 28, Jones 1 for 18). By beating Karori on Saturday, Hutt has won the Wellington senior cricket championship.
