OBITUARY

MRS J. W. LEWIS. The death occurred this morning of Mrs Mary Lewis, wife of Mr John William Lewis, of 12 Dixon Street, Masterton. > The late Mrs Lewis was born at Clifton, Invercargill, 62 years ago. After eight years residence in Timaru, following her marriage, she came to Masterton in 1920, where she had since resided. She was a member of the women’s branch of the Labour Party and was an active and keen party supporter. She is survived by her husband, three sons, Messrs W. Lewis (Melbourne), Fred Lewis (Palmerston North) and Robert Lewis (Hamilton) and one daughter, Mrs W. F. Weston, Masterton. The funeral will take place on Monday, leaving St Patrick’s Church, following Requiem Mass at 8.30 a.m. for the Masterton Cemetery.
