, INSTRUCTIVE LECTURE.
A vei'y interesting address was given to local members of the Voluntary Aid Detachment of the Order of St. John by Dr. Adams, of the U.S.M.C., the subject of his address being malaria fever and modern methods of treatment. The matters covered by Dr. Adams included a general description of the fever, how it is contracted, the special drugs used in the treatment of malaria and their administration and effect, symptoms, complications arising therefrom, diet and general nursing technique necessary in the nursing of fever cases. At the conclusion of the address, Mrs- A. F. Stewart, commandant, on behalf of the detachment, thanked Dr. Adams for an address which had proved as interesting as it was instructive and which had been closely followed and appreciated by all members of the detachment.
