BOWLING CLUB MEETING OF COMMITTEE. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mr F. L. Barr presided over a meeting of the Carterton Bowling Committee last evening. It'was decided to close the men’s green on May 1 and the ladies’ green earlier, and that until the season was officially closed the ladies be allowed to play on the men’s green. It was decided that on April 3 a rink consisting of the club’s centre delegates and another player go to Greytown to play in a match that is being arranged. A recommendation was made that the selection of the club’s fours to take part in the Centre fours championship be left to the match committee. SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL Last evening the final for the Carterton Bowling Club’s singles championship was played between W. Sorensen and Gordon Hughan. At the 15th head the score was 13/13. From then on Sorensen scored 9 points and his opponent 3, thus winning by 22/16. Personal. Mr J. Teal, of -Petone, who visited Carterton in connection with his mother’s 95th birthday yesterday, returned home today. Amateur Swimming Club. To wind up a successful swimming season members of the Carterton Club have decided to hold a dance in the State Theatre on Wednesday evening next when the cups won during the season will be presented. The proceeds from the dance will go toward the Patriotic Fund. The music will be played by Mr T. Udy’s Orchestra. Home and Schools’ Association. Members of the Carterton Home and Schools’ Association have decided to hold a dance in the State Theatre, on Saturday, April 3. The purpose of the dance is to augment the recreation funds of the Carterton District High School. Novelty dances will be on the programme and the music will be supplied by Mr T. Udy’s dance' orchestra. Temporary Post Office. Good progress is being made by the contractors in the. alteration of the Carterton bandroom in Holloway Street to accommodate the postmaster and his staff until the new Post Office is erected. The staff will take over the bandroom in about three weeks. Church Services. Church of England service will be held at Waihakeke on Sunday next. REGENT THEATRE “HOLD THAT GHOST.” “Hold That Ghost,” a particularly good comedy in which B,ud Abbott and Lou Costello are starred, will be finally shown tonight.
