Mr J. H. Jerram, 1.5.0., general manager of the State Fire and Accident Insurance Office, is at present on an official visit to Masterton. The death occurred in Wellington yesterday of Mr George Henry Bullard, for 46 years, till his retirement in 1925, a member of the staff of the Lands and Survey Department. Mr and Mrs N. C. C.. Shepherd, Featherston, announce the engagement of their daughter, Norma Claire Campbell, to Thomas Ernest George, son of Mr and Mrs T. Mark, Manchester Street, Christchurch. The engagement is announced of Thora June, youngest daughter of Mrs W. D. McCalmont, Masterton, and the late Mr L. Miller, Hikurangi, to P.F.C. Leonard Alvin Grumbles, U.S.M.C., eldest son of Mrs and the late Mr C. Grumbles, Austin, Texas, U.S.A. ' Mr George Oliver Turner, secretary to the Board of Directors of the Bank of New Zealand, who died at Lower Hutt, joined the Bank of New Zealand at Chrdistchurch in 1920. He was attached to the London office of the bank from 1922 to 1926, and returned to New Zealand in 1926. In 1927 he was appointed secretary to the board, holding that position till his death.
