SERIOUS WARNING
, TO BRITAIN & AMERICA SEEN BY LORD STRABOLGI IN GERMAN COMEBACK IN RUSSIA. NEED OF OFFENSIVE IN WESTERN EUROPE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.20 a.m.) LONDON, March 24. “The German comeback on the Donetz and the second tragedy of Kharkov are a serious warning to England and America,” declared Lord Strabolgi, in a speecch at Winchester. He added: “Hitler’s transfer of 22 divisions to Russia from Western Europe is a terrible reproach to those in London responsible for the higher direction of the United Nations’ war effort. We should have been ready by this time to launch the Jong-promised offensive on the mainland of Europe. There is only one German soldier in Africa for every twenty fighting against our Russian Allies. It is worth the unavoidable risk of any great military campaign to defeat the Germans this year. “If one-third of the British people were under the heel of the German invader,” Lord Strabolgi added, “we would not talk comfortably of the war ending in 1944 or 1945.”
