GOING TO THE PACIFIC. TO TRANSMIT MESSAGES & TALKS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The intention of the National Broadcasting Service to send a mobile recording unit to the Pacific war area for the recording of messages and talks by members of the New Zealand forces there was announced yesterday by the Minister in Charge of Broadcasting, Mr Wilson. He said that in view of the success of the activities of the New Zealand broadcasting unit in the Middle East, and the great appreciation .of its work, the Government was anxious that members of the forces in the Pacific area should have the same opportunity of maintaining contact with their relatives and friends in New Zealand. The unit going to the Pacific will be staffed by two officers, a commentator and a technician. Some weeks will elapse before the first messages recorded are heard from New Zealand stations.
