OTHER PEOPLE’S IDEAS

SECONDARY INDUSTRIES (To the Editor) Sir,—lt is to be hoped that the discussion by the Borough Council on the question of secondary industries will bear fruit. As a town is what the people make it, might I suggest the business men get together and give this question a push along. As the raw material for nearly all industries comes from the land, the farmer also should be interested, and a round table talk by the Farmers’ Union might be profitable. Co-operation is needed, here and by leaving the question to one or two progress will be handicapped and probably little accomplished. A lead has been given. Will the business people and the farmers follow it, or will it be left to the “other fellow?” I wonder. —I am, etc., WAKE UP MASTERTON. Masterton, March 19.
