MASTERTON W.W.S.A.
SUCCESSFUL INITIAL DANCE. DOMINION SECRETARY PRESENT. A successful dance was held in the Masonic Hall, Masterton, last evening, by the Women’s War Service Auxiliary. The Dominion Secretary of the Women’s War Service Auxiliary, Miss Malempre, made a special journey from Wellington to attend the initial dance held by the Masterton District Auxiliary. Mrs J. Robertson, president, thanked all who had contributed to the success of the evening, the ticket sellers, doorkeepers, M's.C., and the canteen workers of the W.W.S.A. Thanks- were also expressed to the Commanding Officer, Mrs A. Whittaker, and Mrs McMinn, hon. secretary. Mrs Ashton’s Orchestra was much enjoyed as usual, and the novelty dances were won as follow: —Monte Carlo, Mrs G. Whittaker and Mr Moon; lucky spot, Sergeant Geiser and Miss Steele; statue. Miss A. Shoreman and Mr Ludemann. Messrs L. Askew and J. Bruce were the M’s.C. The Masterton District W.W.S.A. intend to hold these dances monthly. The date of the next dance will be announced later.
