EAST SCHOOL
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. At the annual meeting of the Masterton East School Association, the president, Mr G. Bilderbeck, presided. In the annual report reference was made to the success of the gatherings organised by the executive. This was due to the loyalty and untiring efforts of the members. The bazaar had been an outstanding success, a profit of over £5O being made. A considerable sum had been spent on the upkeep of the grounds. The sale of potatoes had helped ’ considerably to relieve this burden. It was hoped to proceed with the laying down of a lawn this autumn. Votes of thanks were passed to kindred associations which had been of service during the year, to Mr R. Coutts for auditing the books, to Mr H. Smith for his services at the Christmas party, to the teachers for organising the sports afternoon, and to all parents and helpers. The following officers were elected: —President, Mr G. Bilderbeck; secretary, Miss J. Rayne; committee, Messrs Gibbs, Selby, Dean, Southey, Mesdamies Cairns, Selby, Trevorrow, Smith, Knowles, Dean and Miss Goodall.
