KOPUARANGA

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE ELECTION OF OFFICERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mrs W. J. Cottle presided at the annual meeting of the Kopuaranga Women’s Institute. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mrs W. J. Cottle; secretary, Mrs Hewitt; treasurer, Mrs Brophy; committee, Mesdames Clarke, Jarrett, E. C. Cottle, Hansen, Reside, Wright; librarian Mrs Hansen; home and country, Mrs W. J. Cottle; press reporter, Mrs Hewitt; • garment secre-’ tary, Mrs Wright. It was proposed that the Institute birthday be celebrated with a dance. A “bring and buy” for soldiers’ parcels was held during the afternoon. The potato competition resulted as follows:—Mrs W. J. Cottle, 1; Mrs Hewitt, 2; Miss May Cottle, 3. One new member, Miss Budd, was elected. The hostesses were Mesdames Reside and Hansen.
