WEDDING INDER—SIMMONDS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The marriage took place at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Carterton, on Saturj day last, of Peggy, elder daughter of .. Mr and Mrs Henry Simmonds, Carterf ton, and Pilot Officer Vincent Eric Wyles, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Eric Wyles Inder, of Remuera, Auckland. S The Rev. W. F. Stent was the officiat- ,’ ing clergyman, and Miss Verna Irwin ’ presided at the organ. s The bride, who was escorted by her ’ father, wore a gown of white georgette over taffeta, cut on graceful lines to - form a long train. The trimming con- ' sisted of rows of tiny self covered buttons extendnig the length of the bodice 3 front and back. Her veil was caught ’ by a coronet of pearls, and her only ornament was a string of Richelieu ! pearls., She was attended by two bridesmaids, the chief being her sister Letty, and the second her cousin, Miss Betty Chew, of Wanganui. Both were dressed in powder blue georgette over i wedgwood blue taffeta, cut on similar ! lines to the bride’s frock. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, 2nd Lieutenant Norman Inder, and Pilot Officer Rex Goodchap. During the signing of the register, Miss Verna Sorensen sang “I Walk Beside You.” The reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, where over sixty guests were entertained. Pilot Officer and Mrs Inder later left for Wellington, en route foi- Christchurch, the bride travelling in powder blue frock with fawn coat and accessories to tone. SWIMMING — i WEEKLY COMPETITIONS. A game for the DeLacey Buttons was played on the Carterton green on Monday evening between the holders. The annual meeting of the Red Cross Society will be held in the Dalefield Dairy Co.’s building at 8 o’clock tonight.
