RONGOKOKAKO
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE ANNUAL ELECTION OF OFFICERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Rongokokako . Women’s Institute, Mrs W. J. O’Neil presided over a good attendance of members. Hot water bag covers were handed in for the Red Cross Society. Mrs M. Morriss won the skill test. The competitions for the month resulted as follows: Best collection of vegetables, Mrs J. Payne 1, Mrs Morriss, Senr., 2. Large flower, Miss D. Nagel 1, Mrs Morriss, Senr. 2. Small flower, Miss D. Nagel 1, Miss Ursula Payne 2. The hostesses were Mesdames McAnulty and Walker, who served a dainty afternoon tea. The points prizes for the year were won by Mrs Morriss, Senr. (industrial) and Miss D. Nagel (flowers). Shoulder sprays were presented by Mrs Baucke to the president, secretary and treasurer. The election of officers resulted in Mrs O’Neil being re-elected president, Mrs Smith and Mrs Falkner vicepresidents, and Mesdames Baucke, Goggin, Morriss, Senr., Morriss, Junr., Payne, Winter and Miss McPhee members of the general committee.
