DESIRE TO MEET DE GAULLE AND ACHIEVE FRENCH UNITY AGAINST AXIS. MESSAGE SENT TO CATROUX. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, March 15. 1 General Giraud lias sent a message to General Catroux saying that he is ready to meet General de Gaulle in order to give concrete expression to the union of all Frenchmen fighting the Axis. Diplomatic Fighting French circles ' in London, an earlier message states, regard General Giraud’s speech with somewhat qualified optimism. The Fighting French hope that his assurances about the return to the Republican Constitution in France may indicate the application of a Republican regime step by step in North Africa.
