PLANNING FOR FUTURE

ERECTION OF WAR BUILDINGS. “The idea of erecting small buildings all over the countryside, is plain silly,” observed Mr F. C. Daniell at last night’s meeting of the Wairarapa College Board of Governors. He said that he had heard that there vzas a prospect of the Tauherenikau racecourse buildings being taken over as a hospital. He said he had made representations through the member for Masterton, Mr J. Robertson, to have a building erected in Masterton, if a building were to be erected at all, which would serve as a girls’ hostel for the college after the war. Mr Daniell said that Mr James Fletchei- had agreed with him that it was necessary to plan for buildings which could serve a useful purpose during and after the war. Mr Robertson had taken tentative plans to Wellington with him and it was possible thgt more might be heard of the matter.
