WOMEN’S INSTITUTE 'meeting at parkvale. ("Times-Age” Special.) Mrs D. N. Adams presided over a good attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Women’s Institute held at Parkvale. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mrs D. N. Adams; vicepresident, Mrs R. Williams; secretary, Mrs E. Rose; treasurer, Mrs N. Peacock; committee, Mesdames C. Jensen, N. McKinnon, W. Hammond, A. Elkins, S. Rayner, Misses H. McKinnon and J. Phelps. Competitions for the month resulted:— Best bloom: Mrs E. Rose 1, Mrs McKinnon 2. Cooking: Scones, Mrs C. Jensen 1, Mrs N. Peacock 2. . Juniors: Cooking, Miss G. Lukies 1, Miss M. Lukies 2. Flowers, Miss J. Lukies 1, Miss G. Lukies 2. The judges were Mesdames S. and T. Rayner. Personal Items. Leading Aircraftman W. A. Houleston, who returned from Canada this week, is the, guest of Mr and Mrs F. Sewell, Senr., Belvedere Street, Carterton. Mrs Mohi, of Carterton, has left for Hastings to attend the wedding of her cousin, Miss Mona Kerehoma, daughter of the late Mr Rangi Kerehoma, of Walrarapa, to Peter Nera, son of Mr W. Nera, of Wairarapa. Evangelistic (Mission. Evangelistic services will be held in the Masonic Hall, Carterton, tomorrow at 7 p.m. and on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7.30 o’clock. Proposed Veterinary Association. Mr W. Wilson presided over a meeting of the Wairarapa Federation of Dairy Factories when a deputation from the Farmers’ Union, consisting of Messrs E. T. Bliss, Chamberlain, W. Wiggins and A. E. Reid, suggested the forming of a Veterinary Association for the Wairarapa. The suggestion was approved of and it was decided to circularise all dairy companies in the Wairarapa and ask them to consider the proposal and appoint a delegate to attend a meeting in April to discuss; the matter. Frost Experienced. A frost was experienced in Carterton this morning. REGENT THEATRE “ALOMA OF THE SOUTH SEAS.”-. "Aloma of the South Seas,” an outstanding drama, will be the feature of tonight’s programme, Dorothy Lam'our and Jon Hall having the leading roles.
