FOUR AXIS SHIPS AT GOA. REFUSAL TC ATTEMPT DASH TO SINGAPORE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, March 11. The Axis is now known to have lost 25,000 tons of shipping in an extraordinary scuttling incident at Goa, the Portuguese colony on the west coast of India. The ships were three German and one Italian, two being of 7000 tons, one of 6000 tons, and, one (the Italian) of 5000 tons. The crews quarrelled ovei' the idea of making a dash to Singapore, and in the end scuttled their vessels. The Portuguese authorities are now reported to have taken the officers and crews into custody.
