Y.M.C.A. HELPERS

MASTERTON LADIES’ AUXILIARY. ANNUAL MEETING YESTERDAY AFTERNOON. The annual meeting of the Masterton Y.M.C.A. Ladies’ Auxiliary was held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms yesterday afternoon. Mr C. W. Gaze presided over a large attendance of members. Mrs R. McPherson was nominated as a new member. The annual Mother and Son tea was discussed and it was decided to complete arrangements at the April meeting. Members were advised that the W.W.S.A. was still inviting them to register. A report which showed the Wednesday night hostess dances to be very satisfactory was read. ‘ The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mrs H. E. Pither; vice-presidents, Mesdames H. Bannister, C. W. Gaze and A. Corskie; executive committee, Mesdames M. Mackay, H. Bannister, F. Nelson, R. Keltie, N. Bull, W. Taylor, W. Flaws and H. Henderson; hon. secretary, Mrs C. A. Pickering; hon. treasurer, Mrs W. Flaws; trustees, Mrs Pickering and Mr C. W. Gaze. Mrs Pickering was granted two months’ leave of absence and Mrs R. Cottle will temporarily act as secretary. The next meeting was fixed for April 8 at 2 p.m. Afternoon tea.was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Aikman, Anstice, Bannister and Blackwood. Mr Gaze opened and closed the meeting with prayer.
