ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

MASTERTON DIVISION ANNUAL MEETING FIRST AID CERTIFICATES PRESENTED. ACTIVITIES DURING PAST YEAR. The annual meeting of the Masterton Division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade was held in the ambulance room last night, the Superintendent, Mr J. C. Cooper presiding over an attendance of 30. ■ The following new members received their first aid certificates: Messrs E. Buckeridge, A. Osborne, C. Goudge, L. Gill, H. Wylde, C. McClymont and R. Rippon. A motion was passed thanking the Trust Land Trust for its generous support during the year; the ladies’ dance committee for its willing help in making the social side of the brigade’s activities a great success and Dr. Archer Hosking for his valuable assistance. In a report of the brigade’s activities during the year, it was stated that 37 parades had been held and the number of casualties attended to, public and private, was 149. Ten members of the division were on active service. Lectures had been given by members to E.P.S. classes. Ambulance Officer Cairns and Cadet Ambulance Officer G. Dean had conducted classes for Air Force cadets and all candidates had passed their first aid examinations.
