GREYTOWN
LEAGUE OF MOTHERS FIRST MEETING OF YEAR. (“Times-Age” Special.) The League of Mothers held their first meeting for the year yesterday afternoon. Mrs Smallwood presided. Members stood in silence for a few moments in sympathy with two members who had suffered bereavement, Mesdames A. Johnson and D. Rewi. Mrs Knell presented Mrs Smallwood with a posy. A posy made by Mrs Richards was sent to Mrs Horton, who is still in hospital. The thought for the month was given by Mrs H. G. Carter: “The talent of success is nothing more than doing what you can do well, and doing well whatever you do, without a thought of fame.” Mesdames W. J. Knell and E. Maddison entertained the audience with readings. A short musical programme was given as follows:—Pianoforte solos, Mrs H. G. Carter; anthems, the choir; duet, Mesdames H. Farley and A. York. Miss Hill’s competition was won by Mrs A. York. Personal, Mrs Muirhead, of Auckland, is the guest of Mrs T. N. Smallwood, Kuratawhiti Street. TOWN HALL “MYSTERY SHIP.” Tomorrow night the sensational drama, “Mystery Ship,” will be presented, the associate feature being the hilarious comedy, “George and Margaret.”
