The chairman, Mr Frank Walker, and twelve members of the Higher Council of the Democratic (National Committee confererred with ’President Roosevelt today and recommended his acceptance of the party’s candidature fo rthe election of .1944 (i.e., the Presidential nomination). Mr Walker said Mr Roosevelt smiled, but gave no response.
