Mrs Drummond, Masterton, is staying at Paraparaumu Beach. Mrs H. G. Moser, Queen Street, Masterton, has been visiting Auckland. Mrs Wilson, Auckland, is staying with her parents, Mr and Mrs N. H. James, Pownall Street, Masterton. The engagement is announced between Ronald ' Frederick Hinton, R.N.Z.N., youngest son of Mr and Mrs E. H. Hinton, Walters Road, Kingsland, Auckland, to Audrey Lylian, eldest daughter of Mrs M. Jacobson, Bellevue Road, Mt. Eden, Auckland, and the late Mr V. Boyens, of Pahiatua. An announcement that the New Zealand Minister to Washington, Mr Nash, was returning to New Zealand for’conwith the Government,, was made last* night by the Prime Minister, Mr Fraser. He said that Mr Nash would introduce the Budget which would be presented to the House at as early a date as possible. The funeral of the late Mrs N. G. Rayner took place yesterday afternoon at Masterton. The services at Hyde’s Chapel and the graveside were conducted by the Rev. A. C. Lane. There was a large attendance. Among others beautiful wreaths were received from the Old Boys’ Football Club, the ladies’ committee of the Old Boys’ Football Club, chief, councillors and members of the Masterton Savage Club, and the manager and staff of the Masterton branch of Messrs Levin and Co. The pall-bearers were Messrs E. Jenkins, F. D. Shaw, W. G. Milne and C. Cotton. The marriage took place at Papakura recently of Sergeant E. Eastwood, R.N.Z.A.F., son of Mrs Thomas, of Villa Street, Mastertpn, to Phyllis Mildred, only daughter of Mr and Mrs G. Finch, of Papakura. The bride was attended by Miss Clester McQuoid, and the best man was Staff Sergeant R. I. Keat, of the New Zealand Military Forces. A guard of honour was formed outside the church by members of the W.W.S.A., of which the bride was a member. At the reception, Mr and Mrs Finch, assisted by Miss E. A. Thomas, of Masterton, received the guests. A large number of wedding presents were received by Sergeant and Mrs Eastwood.
