STATE THEATRE
0 — t DOUBLE FEATURE. Tonight’s programme will be headed by two special features dealing with types of drama appreciated by a large section of picture patrons. > The pictures to be shown have made an immediate appeal to servicemen from overseas and have become very popular with them. "Beyond the Sacramento” is a thrilling story with Billy Elliott in the chief role, and the acting and scenery are of a particularly high order. “Beyond the Sacramento” is one of the most hair-raising, nervetingling adventure shows ever to blaze a trail across the screen. The other picture, “Two Gun Law,”, provides plenty of excitement in an exceptionally well told story, with Charles Starrett, the famous western star, portraying the principal character. There are some excellent pictures of the fighting in the Solomons at Guadalcanal and in the Middle East in which Americans, rfew Zealanders and Australians are seen in action. Actual war scenes are presented and large numbers of Japanese prisoners are seen being marched behind the lines.
