Escaped Frenchmen who reach England have the news that they are safe broadcast to their family. One message recently broadcast informed an anxious family somewhere in France: “This is Jean, brother of Lucienne, son of Philippe, who left with Uncle Maurice for England to join General de Gaulle. I am safe. Uncle Maurice died in my arms before, we got out of France."
