TAXI CHARGES

CURRENT MASTERTON RATES. The Borough Traffic Inspector, Mr J. McGregor, has supplied the following information regarding taxi charges in Masterton:— One or two passengers, distance not exceeding one mile, Is 6d; for each additional half-mile or part, 6d. For each and every additional passenger over two for the complete journey, 6d. Waiting time, for each complete five minutes, 6d. Luggage on carrier affixed to taxi, 6d; prams and tricycles, no charge. Between the hours of midnight and 7 a.m., first mile or part mile, additional charge of Is; each mile or part thereafter, 6d. The charge shall be at the specified rates based on the distance travelled during the actual hiring, or shall be on a basis of half the actual distance travelled over the whole journey, computed from the Post Office back to the Post Office, whichever is the greater.
