PATRIOTIC APPEAL CANVASSERS APPOINTED. (“Times-Age” Special.) At a special meeting of men called 'by the Greytown Citizens’ Patriotic Committee, there were preesnt: Messrs A. W. Horton (in the chair), R. Beu, G. Te Whaiti, A. York, J. W. Herod, W. G. K. Wiggins, J. Bouzaid, F. C. Bunny, J. Kiernan, J. Coleman, G. Eager, R. C. O’Neale, S. C. Shedden, W. Grigg, H. Farley, H. Manihera, W. W. Tully. Miss Duff (hon. secretary) was also in attendance. An apology for absence was received from MrH. G. Carter. Canvassers were appointed as follows: —Ward’s Line and Battersea, Mr R. C. O’Neale; Moroa Road, Cross’s Line, Kempton Road, Mr R. Beu; Fabian’s Road and Martinborough Road, Mr J. W. Herod; Papawai, Mr' G. Te Whaiti; Wood Street, Hospital and Main Street South, Mr E. Eager; East Street and McMaster Street, Mr F. C. Bunny; Main Street, Messrs J. Coleman, W. W. Tully and J. Kiernan; Ahiakouka, Mr A. York; West Street South, Cotter Street, Kempton Road, Humphries Street, Pierce Street and Woodside, Mr H. Farley; Kuratawhiti Street and Jellicoe Street, Messrs W. G. K. Wiggins and S. C. Shedden; Wood Street, Mr J. Bouzaid. It was decided that collections be made between March 6 and March 31. Personal Items. Mesdames A. Haigh and M. Maddison have returned to Greytown from a holiday spent at, Paekakariki. Mr and" Mrs 6. Skeet have left for a visit to the South Island. Bowling. Playing at Greytown for the centre fours, the Featherston team (L. James, H. Rowles, G. Thompson and G. O’Neale) defeated N. McLeod, F. Harrington, F. Dennes and W. Higgison (Greytown). In the club singles, J. F. Thompson beat H. W. Feast, H. Carter beat J. Reid. In the progressive pairs, F. Harrington won the skips section, and J. Coleman the leads. TOWN HALL “REBECCA.” There will be presented at the Town Hall tomorrow night one of the greatest dramas ever brought to the screen, “Rebecca,” with Laurence Olivier, Joan Fontaine, George Sanders and Judith Anderson portraying the chief characters.
