The Rt. Hon. R. S. Hudson, M.P., British Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, broadcasting from the British Broadcasting Corporation on Britain’s bumper harvest of 1942. Mr Hudson gave up a promising diplomatic career for politics. He was for some years at the British Embassy in Washington, and married a New York society girl. Before the war, as Secretary, Overseas Trade, he headed several important British trade missions abroad. In March, 1939, he paid a flying visit to Warsaw, Moscow, and the Scandinavian countries. He has been Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Labour; Minister of Pensions; Parliamentary Secretary. Ministry of Health. Mr Robert Hudson has gone into agriculture himself on a sizable scale. Recently he bought Manor Farm, Manningford Bohun, in Wiltshire, formerly owned by a well-known Canadian, Mr George Oalum. The property runs into about 900 acres.
