WOMAN FATALLY INJURED

HIT BY A BUS. ACCIDENT NEAR TE AWAMUTU. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, February 28. When she was knocked down by a bus near Te Awamutu a middle-aged woman suffered a fractured skull, which caused her death in hospital. She was Miss Grace Schmidt, aged 46, of Tc Awamutu. She had been picking blackberries at the side of the road, and she ran across the road directly in front of a bus. The driver swerved to avoid her, but she was already too far across the road. In swerving the bus left the side of the road and went over a six-foot bank. It did not overturn, however, and was undamaged. The driver and some of the 10 passengers suffered minor abrasions.
