FERTILIZER RATIONING

LODGING' OF APPEALS. In order to allow for readjustments in anomalous positions in fertiliser rationing, the Primary Industries Controller has indicated by advertisement in this issue that appeals may be lodged with the chairman o’ the fertiliser committees between the dates of March 1 and April 30, 1943. Fertiliser granted under the appeal procedure will not be available until next rationing period, i.e., after July 1. The grounds of appeal are defined as follows:—(1) Wherq through misunderstanding or inability the owner of a property did not lodge an application or appeal under the Phosphatic Fertiliser Control Notice. 1941. (21 Where it can be demonstrated by documentary evidence that the two years ended May. 31, 1941, were not a true indication of the average amount of topdressing used. . The basis of appeal as mentioned in clause 1 has been made sufficiently wide to include such cases as ex-servicemen who have taken up land since rationing was brought into force, and to cover, also, owners of properties for which there has been no previous allocation. Where applications are made in accordance with clause 2, documentary evidence to the , effect ot the amount of fertiliser purchased during the two years ended May 31. 1939. must be produced by the applicant. In the event cf this evidence not accompanying the appeal the application will be dismissed. The attenion of all farmers is drawn to the fact that appeals must be lodged with a Fertiliser Committee prior to April 30. 1943.
