EWE FAIR

SALE AT EKETAHUNA ADVANCE IN PRICES. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., and Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their annual ewe fair at Eketahuna yesterday. Nearly 9000 ewes came forward (being well above advertised numbers) and practically a total clearance was effected at auction, prices being considered well in advance of those received at other Wairarapa ewe fairs held so far this season, and particularly when the quality was taken into consideration. The following were prices obtained for the main lines: — Two-tooth ewes: A/c E. AV. Cheetham, 28s 6d; D. J. Olivant, 28s; Hislop Bros., 27s 6d; Shaw Bros., 26s 6d and 255; C. Davie, 26s 4d; C. W. Gunderson, 25s 8d; O. Welch, 255; J. E. Wright, 25s 6d; McKenna Bros., 245; “Kilmory,” 22s 6d; other small lots, 21s 3d to 23s Id. Four and six-tooth ewes: A/c J. E. Wright. 21s 9d to 21s lOd; M.
