FOURTH TERM?

FOR PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT WHITE HOUSE DISCUSSION. NOMINATION CONSIDERED LIKELY (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) WASHINGTON, February 24. Representative Sabath, who is the chairman of the House of Representatives’ Rules Committee and dean of the House, said: “I have discussed the question of a fourth term with Mr Roosevelt, who neither wants nor seeks a fourth term, because he feels he could render valuable assistance in making the peace outside the White House.” Mr Sabath added: “Nevertheless, there is a definite movement, which is gaining momentum, to draft Mr Roosevelt for another term. “This was started by the American people, who have faith in the President and believe that he is the bestqualified man to see us through the war and deal with the foreign politicians at the peace table. “I told Mr Roosevelt that he owes it to the country and the world to run again. I told him it would be an awful strain on him, but that even his enemies recognise that there is no other man in a position to proceed like him.” Mr Sabath predicted that Mr Roosevelt will be nominated by acclamation at the Democratic Party’s national convention and elected by an overwhelming majority.
