PNEUMONIA CLEARING

MR CHURCHILL’S CONDITION GENERAL IMPROVEMENT. LONDON, February 24. Today’s bulletin from No. 10 Downing Street states that Mr Churchill’s condition shows a general' improvement. The pneumonia is clearing but his temperature is not yet settled. This is the first time pneumonia has been mentioned in connection with the Prime Minister’s illness. TEMPERATURE NORMAL MR CHURCHILL WELL ON ROAD TO RECOVERY. (Received This Day, 11.10 a.m.) LONDON, February 24. It is understood that Mr Churchill is now well on the road to recovery. His temperature is normal. The “Evening Standard’s” political writer says it can now be revealed that Mr Churchill had been seriously ill. His medical advisers were of the opinion that he was “out of the wood." They have advised him to take a rest before resuming work.
