SCHOOL PICNIC ENJOYABLE GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The South Featherston school picnic was held in the school grounds on Friday under splendid weather conditions. There was a large attendance of parents and friends. The opportunity was taken to farewell Mr and Mrs A. Blandford who will shortly leave the district. There was a good attendance at the fortnightly euchre party and. dance held in ' the South Featherston Hall. The music was provided by Mr T. Udy’s band and extras were played by Messrs Lloyd Mclntosh and Hemi. Mr Graham was M.C. The Monte Carlo prizes went to Margaret Guthrie and Mr Blake and Miss L. Ahipene and partner. A lucky spot dance was won by Miss Mary Lewis and partner. The card winners were:—Ladies: Mrs R. Parker 1, Mrs Fairbrother 2. Men’s section: Mrs F. R. Burt 1, Mr Thurston 2. Supper was served by a ladies’ committee. Personal Items, Mr. Lewis has returned to Otaki after a visit to the district. Mr and Mrs D. W. Burt and Mr and Mrs R. J. Yule are spending a holiday at Whakanae. Mrs Lissington, of Palmerston North, is the guest of Mrs H. W. Willis. Mrs Denton, of Levin, is staying with Mrs Alex Robertson, South Featherston. Mrs Chivers has returned home after a holiday spent at New Plymouth. Miss J. W. Burt spent the weekend at Lower Hutt.
