GANDHI’S HEALTH
NO APPRECIABLE CHANGE LATEST BULLETIN. PRAYERS FOR LONG LIFE AND RELEASE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.0 a.m.) BOMBAY, February 23. There is no appreciable change to record, says a medical bulletin issued on Gandhi’s health. He had only broken sleep but today appears to be comfortable. Prayers for- a long life for Gandhi and for his unconditional release were offered in places of worship in cities, towns and villages throughout India. The Parsee community at Karachi passed a resolution requesting the Viceroy to release Gandhi unconditionally to save his life for the cause of universal goodwill and peace. The Madras Hindu leader, Rajagopalachari, and the Congress Party leaders, Bhulabhai, Desai and Munshi, have abandoned their efforts to “obtain from the Government a gesture which they could use to persuade Gandhi to give up the fast.” They stayed in New Delhi after the Leader’s Conference for this purpose but are now leaving tomorrow for Poona, where Gandhi is fasting.
