MASTERTON CLUB | LAST NIGHT’S MEETING. THE SUCCESSFUL COMPETITORS. The weekly meeting of the Masterton Amateur Swimming and Life Saving Club was held last night at the Dixon Street baths under very favourable conditions. Several Marines were among the spectators. Ladies’ dive: N. Stains 1, J. McCormack 2, M. Cruickshank 3. Men’s dive: Clive Thorne and Colin Thorne (equal) 1. 100 yards relay race: Intermediate boys, 1; junior girls, 2; senior men, 3. The club extends its congratulations to Mr F. Sexton, a very promising intermediate swimmer, who gained provincial honours in Wellington last Saturday. He was successful in winning the 100 yards provincial title in 65secs. and also the 220 yards title in 2.57 4-5 secs., both by a fair margin. Unless members pay their subscriptions they will not be able to compete in the club championships.
