- RED CROSS SOCIETY ENJOYABLE CARD PARTY. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a good attendance at the Red Cross Society's card party held yesterday, when a most enjoyable time was spent. Mrs Viles was the winner at cards. Competitions were won by Mrs Carlyon and Mrs Sim. Donations were received from Mesdames N. Matthews, Cross, Carlyon and Lawson. School Picnic. The pupils of the Featherston primary school and District High School held their picnic on the Recreation grounds yesterday. There was a good attendance of scholars and parents. During the afternoon races were run. In the 440 yards race Stan Houghton was the winner. Much interest was taken in the cycle race which was won by Gordon Burt. During the afternoon fruit and sweets were distributed to the children. Personal Items. Misses Trevalla (Wellington), May Hunter (Johnsonville) and Jean Houston (Rongotai), were weekend guests of Mrs Houston. Miss Goodrich is visiting friends in Foxton. Miss Jean Hosie (Manaia) was the guest of her sister, Mrs J. W. McKain, during the weekend. Mrs Houston left yesterday on a visit to her sister, Mrs L. Sim, Himatangi. COSY THEATRE “NO GREATER SIN.” Tomorrow night’s programme will be headed by that outstanding picture, “No Greater Sin,” in which Leon Ames, Guy Usher, Bodil Rosing, John Gallan- ! del and Luana Waters have the chief roles.
