FAREWELL GATHERING

MR F. MADDEN ENTERTAINED. At a social gathering held after the evening service at the Masterton Baptist Church on Sunday last opportunity was taken to say goodbye and God speed to Mr Frank Madden. The Rev. J. Cumming voiced the appreciation. of the congregation of the services Mr Madden had rendered. Mr Morice spoke of the excellent work of Mr Madden as a pupil of the Wairarapa College and as a head prefect, and wished him every success during his university career. Mr W. Teboon, on behalf of the members of the church, presented him with a fountain pen, after which the gathering was brought to a conclusion with the singing of "Blest be the tie that Binds.” . . , i
