LATE MR J. C. EWINGTON
FORESTERS’ LODGE ACTIVITIES. Member for nearly 50 years. At a meeting of the Foresters’ Lodge held in Masterton last night feeling reference was made to the death of Bro J. C. Ewington, who was a very old and highly esteemed member of the lodge, he having joined on May 8; 1884. He took a very active part in lodge work and occupied the Chief Ranger’s chair in 1892-93, after which he became a trustee of the lodge and held that office for over, forty years. He was a very keen and active member in all branches of the lodge, •» especially in inaugurating membership campaigns which were highly ■ successful. As a trustee he looked well to the finances of the lodge which he was ever ready to improve. His death will be severely felt by the lodge but the record he has left behind is one which other members should emulate. The sympathy of the officers and members is extended to Mrs Ewington and the members of the family in their sad bereavement.
